Son of former Tánaiste who ran a County Roscommon business in 1990s mourned
The late Patrick Colley.
The death took place recently at the Royal Hull Infirmary in the UK of Patrick Colley, formerly of Elphin Street, Strokestown.
A native of Dublin, he was son of the late George Colley, former Tánaiste and government minister, and of the late Mary Colley (nee Doolan).
Patrick Colley operated a public house and restaurant at Elphin Street during the 1990s and made many firm friends in the area as a result.
News of his passing on January 4th following a brief illness was heard of with deep sadness among his relatives, former neighbours and friends.
There were many condolences expressed online from people in Strokestown.
The funeral service took place on January 16th at the East Riding Crematorium, Octon, Yorkshire.
He is survived by his partner, Christopher Barr; children, Nathan, Georgina and Lisa, their mother, Dympna; daughter-in-law, Nessa; grandchildren, Kitty and Aidan; siblings, Anne, Bairbre, Harry, Eoin, Blanaid and Maeve, and other relatives to whom deepest sympathy is extended.
