Storm Isha forces closure of Civic Amenity sites

Civic Amenity Sites in Roscommon and Ballaghaderreen are closed this morning (Monday) due to no electricity after yesterday's Storm Isha, Roscommon County Council has advised.

The Boyle site is also currently closed but is expected to open later this morning.

The council is also advising motorists once again to drive with extreme care as debris may still be present on roads following the road.

Crews from the local authority have been working for many hours and continue to access the impact of the storm, removing trees and making roads safe.

While weather conditions have improved, winds remain strong with continuing gusts. The council is asking the public to please allow extra time for journeys if travelling this morning.
