A spectacular convoy of classic cars will travel through towns and villages across Galway and Roscommon this coming Friday, 14th August, as Boston Scientific hosts its inaugural Classic Car Run in aid of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI).
The charity event will see a stunning selection of iconic vehicles leave Boston Scientific at 9.00am, travelling through Athenry, Moylough, Mountbellew and Roscommon where The Abbey Hotel Roscommon will host a Coffee Morning fundraiser from 11.00am to 12.30pm. Members of the public are invited to come along, admire the classic cars, meet the drivers, and support breast cancer research while enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake at the fundraising stop.
After the coffee stop, the drivers will begin the return journey to Galway but this time traveling via Ballymoe, Williamstown, Dunmore, Tuam and Claregalway, before crossing the finish line back at Boston Scientific.
Every euro raised will go directly to the NBCRI-funded breast cancer research team at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway, helping researchers advance new discoveries and improve outcomes for those affected by breast cancer.
"We're delighted to launch the inaugural Boston Scientific Classic Car Run and to support the incredible work of the National Breast Cancer Research Institute," said Michelle Brennan, spokesperson for the Boston Scientific event. "We hope people will line the route, join us at The Abbey Hotel Rose and help make the event a great success."
