Temperatures in the county reaches 30 degrees
Temperatures in the county have reached 30 degrees this afternoon as Roscommon continues to enjoy the sunshine.
According to the weather station at Mount Dillon in East Roscommon, at 3pm today the temperature climbed to 30 degrees, and remained there as of 4pm. Yesterday, the highest temperature recorded at the station was 24.7 degrees.
Earlier today, Met Éireann issued a thunderstorm warning for the county, which came into effect at 3 pm until Friday evening at 6 pm.
The national weather forecaster is warning of thunderstorms developing today, overnight, and into Friday with the risk of torrential downpours and localised flooding.
The same weather warning also applies to the rest of Connacht and County Donegal.
