Thousands of visitors enjoy Castlerea Pool this summer
The staff of the pool has been widely praised.
More than 20,000 visitors attended one of the county's most popular tourist attractions this summer.
Roscommon County Council thanked the hard-working lifeguards and team of Castlerea Outdoor Swimming Pool as the season drew to a close yesterday. Thousands of people attended the amenity this summer which was open for 54 days over a ten week period.
“The pool is beloved by Castlerea people and beyond as a wonderful leisure and recreational amenity,” the council said. “The team will return to action next summer, offering the same professional and friendly service as before.”
Cllr Paschal Fitzmaurice also extended his thanks to all the staff of the pool as well as the council. He added that this year’s attendance at the pool has broken all records to date.
