Three arrested following garda operation in Roscommon
During the operation, members conducted nine mandatory intoxicant testing checkpoints along with numerous high-visibility mobile patrols and static checkpoints at strategic rural and urban locations.
Three people have been arrested following a joint garda operation in Roscommon last night, Sunday.
'Operation Surround', involved members of the Roads Policing Unit, Core policing units and Community policing unit attached to Roscommon Garda Station.
The primary objective of the operation was to provide a high-visibility policing presence aimed at targeting non compliant road users and disrupting the activities of active criminals throughout the division.
During the operation, members conducted nine mandatory intoxicant testing checkpoints along with numerous high-visibility mobile patrols and static checkpoints at strategic rural and urban locations.
The operation resulted in three arrests: two arrests for driving while intoxicated an one arrest for a public order offence.
A number of Fixed Charge Penalty Notices are also being issued for various road traffic offences.
Two vehicles were detained under the relevant road traffic legislation.
