Temperatures of 30 degrees are expected in some areas of County Roscommon today.
According to latest forecasts the county is expected to experience a brief heatwave over the next two days.
Met Eireann has also predicted mostly dry weather with sunny spells and some isolated showers. It will continue to be very warm with highest temperatures of 24 to 28 degrees in a light easterly breeze.
It will be largely dry overnight with clear spells and a few showers to begin. Temperatures re not expected to fall below 13 to 16 degrees with light southerly or variable breezes.
Tomorrow, Wednesday will be warm and humid tomorrow with sunny spells to begin. Showers or showery outbreaks of rain will develop later with some thunderstorms possible. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees for most with light to moderate southerly breezes.
