The late Mrs Bernadette Condron.

“A brilliant teacher”, “a wonderful lady” and “a lovely neighbour” are just some of the tributes that have been paid this evening to the late Mrs Bernadette (Bernie) Condron (née Moran) of Lisagallon, Cloverhill, and formerly of Tibarney, Mount Talbot, who passed away earlier today Sunday, unexpectedly but peacefully at her home.

Bernie, who taught at Scoil Mhuire in Strokestown for many years, was also a founder member of the Roscommon Solstice Choir.

“It is with a profound sense of sadness that we tell you today of the loss of Roscommon Solstice Choir founder-member, long time committee member and dear friend, Bernie Condron,” the choir said in a statement.

“Bernie will be dearly missed by her family, her neighbours and her many, many friends. Singing with the choirs of heaven. Rest in eternal peace.”

A former teacher of Commerce/Business and Irish at Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown, where she also served as deputy principal, Mrs Condron is remembered by former pupils as “a fantastic teacher who was genuinely interested in her pupils”.

She also had a great love of horses with some of her horses winning prizes at The Curragh and in England.

Bernie was much loved wife of P.J. and wonderful mother to Eunan, Enda and Aislinn. She will be very sadly missed by her family, brothers, Sean, Oliver and Anthony; sister, Mary; daughters-in-law, Deborah and Fiona; son-in-law, Keith; her adored grandchildren, Ciaran, Dara, Julian, Chloe and Rosa Pearl; sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many good friends. She was predeceased by her parents Josephine and Dan and her infant sister, Frances.

Reposing at the home of her son and daughter-in-lawm Eunan and Deborah, Lisagallon F42 DX77 on Tuesday from 3.30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Removal on Wednesday morning arriving to St Patrick’s Church, Cloverhill F42 CV63 for Mass of the Resurrection at 11.30 p.m. with burial afterwards in Ardkeeran Cemetery.
