Tributes paid to Italian man who developed successful restaurant and takeaway business in Roscommon

The late Domenico Morelli.

Many tributes have been paid following the passing of Italian native Domenico Morelli, who developed a very successful restaurant and takeaway business with his family in Roscommon Town.

Mr Morelli passed away on November 20th surrounded by his family at SS. Trinita Hospital, Sora, Italy. He was aged 90.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Giuseppina Morelli, his sons, his daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, his sister, his grandchildren, his great grandchildren and all his extended family.

Mr Morelli’s Funeral Mass was held yesterday, Saturday, November 22nd, at Chiesa Parrocchiale S. Barbato- Casalattico, Italy.

His family said it is very grateful to everyone who has reached out to express their condolences.

Many tributes have been paid online following the news of his passing.

“We all have fond memories of the Morellis arrival to Roscommon and the start of what became a Roscommon institution,” said one sympathiser while another said: “Your father was a truly remarkable man who leaves behind an incredible legacy."
