There were two County Roscommon winners at the FBD Better Farming Awards, which took place in The Heritage Hotel, Killenard last week.
At a gala ceremony, attended by over 200 people and hosted by former Minister of Agriculture Ivan Yates, 20 awards were presented on the night, two of them going to County Roscommon.
Monksland based Senus won the Agtech Ireland Best Agritech Science Product. The company offers a software solution that transforms complex environmental data into actionable insights, enabling farmers and land custodians to make better decisions.
Taughmaconnell group Ui Maine Kingdom won the Cormac Tagging Best Community/Public Group Engagement or Incentive Scheme for its work in protecting the unique Karst landscape’s biodiversity, nature, water, heritage, mythology and folklore.
The awards were founded in 2023 to recognise initiatives, research and practices that are helping Irish agriculture meet its economic, social and environmental challenges. They go beyond the headlines to identify the real difference being achieved by those who are excelling in the various areas of agriculture.
