The Roscommon Association of London celebrated its 70th year at a commemorative function in London on Saturday.

The Roscommon Association of London celebrated its 70th year at a special function on Saturday night in the English capital.

Approximately 250 people attended a commemorative dinner which took place in the Clayton Hotel in Chiswick.

The function was attended by a number of special guests including Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council, Cllr Liam Callaghan; Roscommon Herald Deputy Editor Richard Canny; Dr Cathal Cregg, Provincial Coaching & Games Manager, Connacht GAA and Padraic Mitchell, Head of Games Development, Roscommon GAA.

Pat Winston of the Roscommon Association of London extended a warm welcome to guests including Ciaran Horohoe from Ballyleague, his family and many friends who undertook the role to plan and deliver the event.

All profits from the dinner dance will be split between four charities: Join Our Boys; The Critical Care Centre at King's College Hospital, London to fund music therapy for patients recovering from serious brain and head injuries; The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and Mayo Roscommon Hospice.

Entertainment on the night was provided by Declan Nerney and his band.
