Normal water supply is returning to customers on the North East Regional Water Supply Scheme this morning.

Uisce Éireann has successfully completed repairs following operational issues at Grange Water Treatment Plant.

The water treatment plant is back in production but as reservoir levels return to normal, customers in Elphin and Strokestown may experience low pressure or supply disruptions over the course of the day. It may take some time for the supply to be restored fully for customers on higher ground and at the end of the network.

Water levels at outlying reservoirs of the scheme are low and will take a number of hours today to replenish. This will lead to reduced pressure for customers in Ballyleague, Kilglass, Tarmonbarry, Knockhall, Rooskey, Kilmore and surrounding areas.

Uisce Éireann’s Ger Greally thanked those affected for their patience while the operational issues were addressed.

“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support."

Vulnerable customers who have registered with Uisce Éireann receive direct communications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
