Richael Timothy flew the flag for Ballymoe and Ireland at the 2026 UCI Para Cycling Road World Championships.

Ballymoe’s Richael Timothy has secured a sixth place finish in the 2026 UCI Para Cycling Road World Championships.

Timothy was forced to battle extreme heat with temperatures reaching 32 degrees Celsius and humidity around 70 per cent in Huntsville, Alabama.

The European champion crossed the line in 1:32:19 in the Women's C3 road race, five seconds behind China's Xiaomei Wang, who won the world title in 1:32:14. Timothy placed sixth after four laps and 55.2 km.

The Ballymoe native enjoyed a strong weekend after her ninth-place finish in Friday's individual time trial.
