Pádraig Pearses forward Laura Glennon led her side to victory over Boyle in this evening’s minor final against Boyle, returning a very impressive tally of 1-10.
Her scoring prowess at Kilbride was ultimately the difference between two evenly matched sides.
Both sides scored a goal apiece in the first half, Isabella Downey netting after three minutes for Pearses, before Rachel Sheerin hit back for Boyle in the 22nd minute.
The Woodmount-based side brought a 1-6 to 1-3 victory into the dressing room at the break.
Nine minutes after play resumed, a dipping free from Glennon caught the Boyle players out on the line and she raised Pearses second green flag of the evening.
Caitlín Kennedy and Sheerin again found the net for Boyle, as they chased a two point deficit in a race against time.
However, Pearses held out, adding a minor title to go with their U-16 and intermediate titles won in the Roscommon LGFA championships this season.
