Kilbride Community Centre hosted 150 children from around the county for this year’s Community Games handwriting county finals.

There were two age categories — U-10 and U-12 boys and girls. There were many familiar faces among the competitors, some of whom had competed in this event in previous years and in many other Community Games events. However, many children were competing for the first time.

Handwriting is one of the cultural events on the Community Games calendar and is enjoyed by children who may not be involved in sports.

The children showcased their own unique skills when putting together their competition pieces. There was a very high standard in terms of the many different types of handwriting produced, which made it very difficult for the judge to choose the winners.

Excitement buzzed through Kilbride Community Centre in anticipation of the results.
