Double gold and national record for young Roscommon athlete
Andrew Nolan, Roscommon AC, claimed two golds and a silver medal in the first two days of the 123.ie National Juvenile Track and Field Championships
Athletics action came to Tullamore last weekend for the first two days of what promised to be an exciting feast of athletics action at the 123.ie National Track and Field Championships.
Standout performances came from Andrew Nolan, Roscommon AC who won GOLD in U15 Boys Discus and quickly transferred over to Shot Put where not only won GOLD but also broke the Championship Record with a throw of 17.12m, ending the season in style with national records in Indoors, Schools and Outdoors Athletics.
Andrew also took silver with a personal best in Javelin on Saturday. A super weekend for this promising athlete.
Chloe Claasen, Reeside AC, finished 3rd in the U14 girls’ long jump with a leap of 4.91m , a personal best and enough to secure a bronze medal and her first All-Ireland medal.
Congratulations to all Roscommon athletes who qualified for Nationals. Action returns to Tullamore on July 11th and 12th.
