The FAI has submitted a bid to UEFA to host the 2029 Women's Champions League final.

European football's governing body have shortlisted the Aviva Stadium alongside Cardiff's Principality Stadium, Saint Jakob Park in Basel and Lyon as potential venues.

Two European finals have been played at Lansdowne Road, most recently Atalanta's win against Bayer Leverkusen in the 2024 Europa League decider.

The 2011 Europa League final, which saw Porto defeat Benfica, was also hosted at the Aviva Stadium.

The final will come a year after Euro 2028, which Ireland will be hosting alongside England, Wales, and Scotland.

The 2025 Champions League final saw Katie McCabe's Arsenal defeat Barcelona 1-0.
