County Roscommon cyclist Daire Feeley has moved into the top ten in this year’s Rás Tailtenn after a hectic day’s racing during Stage Two in the south-west.
Feeley — riding for Burren CC — was involved in the main breakaway group of the day and was stage leader on the road at one stage between Rathmore and Banteer.
He ended up 11th on the stage but moved from 28th to tenth in General Classification, 1 minute and 34 seconds behind race leader Adam Lewis.
Thursday afternoon’s stage was won by Tim Shoreman from the UK-based Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli team.
Feeley won the Rás Tailteann in 2022 — the highlight in a burgeoning cycling career.
