Four Roads were crowned Senior Hurling League champions as they ruthlessly accounted for Tremane on a final scoreline of 4-18 to 0-16.

Conor Morris’ tally of 2-8 paved the way for a comfortable triumph while Brendan Mulry’s positional swap for Liam Óg Coyle paid dividends midway through the opening half.

Mulry relocated to the edge of the square and swapped with Óg Coyle, who dropped out to wing forward. That tactical swap paid rich dividends as Four Roads surged clear before half time.

The sides were deadlocked at 0-6 apiece after 25 minutes with both having also registered a half dozen wides by this period. However, Mulry made his impact known on the edge of the square as he latched on to a low Óg Coyle delivery to rattle the net before the former fielded a long delivery and found the onrushing Morris who duly dispatched to the net with this quickfire brace of goals helping Four Roads lead 2-8 to 0-8 at the interval.

Treamen needed a strong start to the second half but were left reeling when corner forward Darren Gately received his second booking just 30 seconds into the final period. With a numerical advantage, Four Roads cantered to victory.

Mulry popped over three exquisite points while Brian Mannion fired home the goal of the game when he found the top right corner of the net in the 51st minute. Morris completed the rout five minutes later as Mulry won his side’s puckout before a flowing team move culminated in goal number four and another piece of silverware for Four Roads.
