A County Roscommon club has added another award to its proud collection for 2023.
St. Michael’s GAA Club was awarded Roscommon GAA Club Ground of the Year at last Monday’s annual County Convention.
Club Chairperson, Eddie Heslin, accepted the award on behalf of the club from Roscommon GAA Safety and Facilities Officer, Frank Egan, in the Abbey Hotel on Monday evening.
The club hosted this year’s Tansey Cup final against Strokestown and was widely praised for its enhanced facilities.

The award completes a memorable year on and off the field for the club, which saw it win the Tansey Cup for the first time since 1988 before following that up with its first County Junior A Football Championship triumph in 30 years.
The club also combined with St. Ronan’s to win U-16 and minor football titles during the year.
The award for Most Improved Club Ground of the Year went to Roscommon Gaels GAA Club.
