The Roscommon senior footballers have been dealt a big blow with the news that Ciaráin Murtagh has opted out of the panel for 2024.
The St. Faithleach’s player is unable to commit to the Rossies for the upcoming season, and his absence is likely to be sorely felt following a stellar year in 2023.
Murtagh, who was one of Roscommon’s star players throughout last season's league and championship, has just returned from a trip to Kenya as part of the Warriors of Humanity initiative. He also got married only a few weeks ago.
Meanwhile, the
understands that Leo Tierney will replace Mark McHugh as a selector ahead of the new season.Tierney, who was been involved in the management team over the last few years, is highly regarded by Davy Burke and will join Lar Wall and Eddie Lohan as selectors.
