Number of Roscommon clubs on the lookout for new managers
There will be a new senior football manager patrolling the sideline in Orchard Park, Elphin, in 2027.
A number of County Roscommon clubs are on the lookout for new managers following their elimination from the local club football championships.
Stephen Sheeran (Elphin) and Cormac Sheehy (Kilglass Gaels) are the latest managers to call time on their tenures in recent weeks.
Sheeran ensured Elphin stayed in the senior football championship after winning the O'Gara Cup, while Sheehy guided Kilglass Gaels to a county Junior A semi-final where they were soundly beaten by Ballinameen.
Dara Bruen (Castlerea St. Kevin’s), Pearse McGinley (Strokestown), Declan O’Flaherty (Clann na nGael), and Decie Hoare (Roscommon Gaels) — the latter being already replaced by Shane Moran — have vacated their posts in recent weeks, ensuring a major managerial reshuffle among the senior clubs in the county before the new season begins.
