Roscommon senior football manager, Davy Burke, has named his team for Friday evening’s Connacht FBD quarter-final against Sligo at the University of Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome (throw-in at 7 p.m.).

The team contains a mix of youth and experience as the Rossies look to get 2024 off to a winning start.

All-Star Enda Smith is included in the starting 15 in what will be his first competitive game since becoming the county’s 12th All-Star last November.

The team will be captained by Diarmuid Murtagh who will take his place in the full-forward line alongside Cathal Heneghan and Jack Duggan, a son of former Roscommon player, Derek, also getting his first start since switching from Longford.

There are starts on the back of excellent performances in the local championship for Luke Glennon, Caelim Keogh, Declan Kenny and Evan Flynn while Cathal Heneghan makes his long-awaited return from injury.

The winners play Mayo or London in the Connacht FBD semi-final on Saturday week, January 13th.
