Cregg to take over as Connacht LGFA President

Brendan Cregg will become Connacht LGFA President next Saturday.

One of County Roscommon’s most highly-regarded and respected officials will be ratified as Connacht LGFA President later today (Saturday).

Brendan Cregg will take over the role from Con Moynihan.

Cregg, from Michael Glaveys GAA Club, is well-known in GAA and LGFA circles throughout County Roscommon.

A former Roscommon Minor Board Chairperson — the highlight being the county’s historic All-Ireland minor football championship success in 2006 — he has previously served as Roscommon LGFA Chairperson and Connacht LGFA Vice-Chairperson.

He will take over the presidency in what is a very historic year for Connacht LGFA on its 50th anniversary.

Roscommon LGFA Chairperson, Declan Walsh, has wished Cregg every success in his new role.

“It will be a very proud moment for Roscommon LGFA when Brendan takes over as Connacht LGFA President next weekend.

“I wish to extend my best wishes, on behalf of Roscommon LGFA, to Brendan and his family. I look forward to working with Brendan and can assure him of the county’s full support,” said Mr Walsh.
