Double dose of Saturday Night Fever for Rossies

The Roscommon senior footballers will have two Saturday evening games in next year’s Division One Football League after the GAA posted its Masters Fixtures list today.
The Rossies will travel to Croke Park to lock horns with All-Ireland champions, Dublin, for the third round of games on Saturday, February 17th, at 5 p.m..
In Round Five, they will travel to Hastings Insurance MacHale Park to renew acquaintances with Mayo for a game that has a 7.30 p.m. throw-in on Saturday, March 2nd.
Roscommon will open their campaign on Sunday, January 28th, with a tricky away tie against Tyrone at O’Neill’s Healy Park, Omagh, at 3.45 p.m..
A week later, Davy Burke’s men will host Connacht rivals Galway in Dr. Hyde Park at 2 p.m..
Roscommon’s other home games are against Monaghan on Sunday, February 25th, at 1.45 p.m., while they play last season’s All-Ireland runners-up, Kerry, on St. Patrick’s Day, also at 1.45 p.m..
They round up their campaign away to Derry, who are now managed by Mickey Harte, at Celtic Park on Sunday, March 24th at 1.45 p.m..
Meanwhile, Kevin Sammon’s first league game in charge of the Roscommon senior hurlers will be a home game against London on Sunday, February 4th, at 12.30 p.m. in Athleague.
The team’s only other home game in Division 2B is against Donegal in Dr. Hyde Park on Sunday, March 10th.
Roscommon’s other three games are all away — against Tyrone in Omagh on February 11th; against Wicklow in Aughrim on Sunday, February 25th, and against Derry on Owenbeg on St. Patrick’s Day.
