County Roscommon native and Irish soccer player Heather Payne paid a visit to the Roscommon minor ladies squad ahead of their All-Ireland A semi-final clash against County Down.

The Leicester City player shared insights from her career, where she has earned over 50 caps for the Ireland women’s team, with the county’s next generation of footballers.

Payne was presented with a Roscommon jersey that was donated by GOWA Ireland, and she gifted two signed Ireland jerseys for the minor squad’s quiz raffle this Saturday.

The Creagh woman played at midfield for the Roscommon U-16 girls' football team during the 2015 All-Ireland B final against Waterford.

Her session with the Roscommon minor panel should prove useful to the players when they take on County Down on Thursday, July 9th at Kingspan Breffni.
