A key member of the Pádraig Pearses senior football team is winning his fitness race for his side’s upcoming county senior football final against St. Brigid’s.
Defender Niall Daly has seen little game time for Pearses or Roscommon this season as a result of a persistent foot injury, but he confirmed at the club’s press night this week that he’s hoping to be available for selection on Sunday, October 26th.
“All the signs are that I don’t need surgery. It’s not fully right, but we’re getting there. I came on against Boyle, and I was available to come on in the match the last day (against St. Faithleach’s), but I wasn’t selected to come on. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance in the final if it goes my way,” he said.
Key St. Brigid’s defender Pearse Frost is likely to miss the final, having broken a bone in his leg against Western Gaels.
