Roscommon senior football manager, Mark Dowd, has confirmed that Boyle forward Cian McKeon will miss the remainder of the Division One League campaign through injury.
McKeon picked up an ankle injury in the dying embers of the recent FBD League defeat against Mayo.
Originally, it was felt that he would return at some point during the league but in the aftermath of Sunday’s six-point victory against Monaghan, Dowd broke the news that McKeon won’t see any action in the top division this term.
“Unfortunately, Cian is going to be out for a long period of time with the injury he has. He won’t see league time,” said Dowd.
On a more positive note, the Roscommon boss was delighted with a controlled second-half performance that turned a two-point half-time deficit into a comfortable 3-16 to 1-16 triumph.
“A win like that gives us confidence. You can see when we put in the work, we can get the results. We’ll be targeting the Armagh game no different. It’s going to be a huge challenge. Lads know that, so it’s up to us to be ready for it,” he remarked.
