Mark Dowd has no fresh injury worries for Roscommon’s defence of the FBD League, which gets underway against Leitrim in Orchard Park, Elphin, on Sunday, January 4th.
Dowd will have to plan without his St. Brigid’s and Strokestown contingent for the foreseeable future, with both clubs in All-Ireland semi-final action on the same weekend as the Leitrim match.
The Roscommon manager has said that we will use a mix of experienced and new players for the two games against Leitrim and Mayo — the latter game taking place in King and Moffatt Dr. Hyde Park on Sunday, January 11th.
Of the new players brought into the squad, it is understood that Conor Ryan (Pádraig Pearses) and Eoin Ward (Fuerty) went well in a recent challenge game against Sligo.
