There's nothing prouder for grandparents than seeing their grandchildren playing games, whether it's an U-12 match or senior intercounty game.

On Wednesday evening, Roscommon and Michael Glaveys U-20 midfielder, Niall Heneghan, delivered a towering performance as the Rossies edged out Mayo in one of the games of the year to be crowned Connacht U-20 football champions.

Niall was superb around the middle third, hitting two points, and there was no prouder woman in Tuam than his grandmother, Kathleen Guilfoyle, who was there to witness the drama.

On Sunday next, Kathleen will turn her attention to the Connacht senior football final against Galway where two more of her grandchildren, Darragh and Cathal Heneghan, are part of the Roscommon panel.
