Roscommon appoint new minor football manager

Tomás Gilleran has been confirmed as the new manager of the Roscommon minor football panel.

The St. Dominic’s clubman replaces Shane Moran who was in charge for the last two seasons, leading Roscommon to back-to-back provincial titles.

Gilleran — a teacher at Athlone Community College — has been part of Cian Smith’s backroom team at U-20 level in recent years. He also led his native St. Dominic’s to intermediate football championship honours in 2022.

“We are delighted that Tomás has agreed to take on the role of Roscommon U-17 Football manager. He brings valuable experience from both his managerial career with St. Dominic’s and his previous involvement with the Roscommon U-20 set-up.

“On behalf of Roscommon GAA Bord na nÓg, I wish Thomas every success in the role and look forward to working with him as preparations begin for the 2027 season,” said Roscommon GAA Bord na nÓg Chairperson Shay Galvin.
