Roscommon club announces the passing of their President

Roscommon Gaels have announced the passing of their Club President, Seamus Comiskey.
In a statement released on their Facebook page, the club announced, "It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear Club President, Seamus (Sharú) Comiskey."
Seamus had many successes with the club on and off the field, winning his first county medal at juvenile level and a minor runners up medal.
Seamus would go on to win five county senior football titles, a senior hurling championship and league medal, along with a Connacht senior club medal and two O'Rourke Cup league medals.

The club praised Seamus' commitment to the club throughout his life.
"Seamus had a huge interest in all aspects of Roscommon Gaels club and was a great supporter of all teams in all codes and ages. He never failed to attend the many club functions over the years supported by his loving family. His kind, hard-working, modest, honest and steady nature will be greatly missed in the Club and County."
The club also extended sympathies to those that knew him saying, "Our thoughts are with Natasha, Jackie and James and his extended family at this difficult time. Seamus leaves behind a legacy that will be remembered for years to come. He will forever remain a part of the Roscommon Gaels story.

Seamus' body will repose at Smyth's Funeral Home (F42 NH27) this Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.. Removal from his home will take place on Monday at 10.15 a.m., arriving to the Sacred Heart Church, Roscommon for Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m., with burial afterwards in St. Coman's Cemetery.
Roscommon Gaels' senior football championship quarter-final match against Boyle will now take place at the earlier time of 12.30 p.m. this Sunday.
