Roscommon club to use county senior footballers’ trip to New York in 2026 as part of annual fundraiser

Gaelic Park, New York, will host the Connacht Senior Football Championship match between New York and Roscommon in 2026.
A County Roscommon GAA Club has tapped into the Roscommon senior footballers’ trip to New York in 2026 as its main fundraiser for the year.
Following on from its hugely successful “Movie Awards” fundraiser, Clann na nGael GAA Club is giving one lucky person and three of their friends flights, accommodation and spending money to the value of €5,000 for the county senior footballers’ Connacht Senior Football Championship match Stateside in April of next year.
Roscommon could be the last team to visit the Big Apple as the annual exodus across the Atlantic, which sees all five counties in Connacht head over to New York on a rota basis, is up for review following the Rossies’ trip next year.
It will be Roscommon's first trip across the Atlantic since 2016.
The draw, which is limited to 1500 tickets, will take place on December 30th, 2025.
Proceeds from the draw will go towards ongoing development to Clann na nGael’s facilities in Johnstown, which includes plans for a second full-sized playing pitch.
There will also be €8,000 worth of runner-up prizes, including a second prize of €3,000.
