Roscommon clubs learn path to provincial glory

Roscommon clubs have learned the potential path that lies ahead after Connacht GAA released the fixture schedules for the upcoming provincial club competitions.
In the AIB Connacht Senior Championship, the winners of the Fahey Cup will meet the Galway champions at the quarter final stage on the weekend of November 9/10.
The winners of that game will face Leitrim opposition one week later while the final is pencilled in for the weekend of November 30/December 1.
In the Intermediate Championship, Roscommon have received a bye to the semi final, where they will play either Sligo or Leitrim opposition.
That game is scheduled for the weekend of November 16/17 with the Connacht final set to be played one week later.
Meanwhile, the provincial Junior Championship will see Roscommon’s representatives line out in a Connacht semi final against Sligo or Leitrim opposition on the weekend of November 16/17. The Connacht final is set to be held two weeks later.
In the Connacht Minor A Football Championship, Roscommon will play either Sligo, Leitrim or Mayo opposition in a provincial semi final.
That game is currently pencilled in for Tuesday, October 29 while the final is scheduled to be held three days later on Friday, November 1 against Galway’s representatives.
On the hurling front, the winners of the county final between Four Roads and St. Dominic’s will face Mayo opposition on the weekend of October 26/27.
The winner of that encounter will play London’s representatives two weeks later. The final against the Galway Intermediate champions will be held on the weekend of November 23/24.
