Roscommon footballer kicks winning score in Chicago GAA final

Roscommon footballer Eoin Colleran kicked the winning score to help Chicago Pádraig Pearses claim the Chicago GAA senior title.
Colleran slotted a dramatic late two-pointer off his left boot at the end of extra time to help his side edge past John McBride’s, 3-22 to 2-24.
The Pádraig Pearses clubman helped the Chicago based side to the senior title last year before kicking a crucial score that saw them defend their title.
Eoin Ward (Fuerty) and John McManus (Roscommon Gaels) were also involved with Chicago Pádraig Pearses as was Conor Ryan, who picked up a serious knee injury earlier in their side’s campaign.
Colleran, told Chicago GAA’s social media channels after the game that he was relieved to help his side eke out the victory.
“McBride’s will probably feel hard done by in the dressing room as in a way they probably deserved the win. On the day we just managed to get over the line. I am delighted to be honest.”
“I think we missed 1-2 in the last five minutes of normal time. That is unlike us. We are normally quite clinical in the end but just delighted to win.”
