Roscommon player picks up serious injury on club duty

Roscommon and St. Brigid's midfielder, Shane Cunnane, faces some time on the sideline after picking up a serious arm injury during his club's senior football championship contest against Michael Glaveys on Friday evening.
Cunnane, who played an integral role in helping the Kiltoom-based club reach January's All-Ireland club final against Dingle, sustained a dislocated elbow five minutes after being introduced against Glaveys.
Afterwards, manager Damien Mulligan said that the knock “looked serious”, and it has been confirmed since that Cunnane dislocated his elbow.
In better news for the Roscommon and Connacht club champions, Paul McGrath looks set to return to action over the coming weeks after overcoming a groin injury.
Meanwhile, 2026 Roscommon senior football captain, Diarmuid Murtagh, has confirmed that he hopes to be part of Mark Dowd's set-up next season.
The top scorer for the Rossies during league and championship, Murtagh told RTÉ Radio's that he would be making himself available for selection in 2027.
