One of County Roscommon most talented ladies’ footballers has seen her season cut short prematurely by injury.
Kate Nolan played a major role in gaining promotion for the Roscommon intermediate ladies’ football team to Division Two season.
The midfielder was also spearheading St. Brigid’s drive towards local championship glory but she was forced off with a knee injury during her side’s recent facile victory against Clann na nGael in Kiltoom.
It has since been confirmed that Nolan suffered a ACL rupture, which will rule her out of action for the remainder of the season.
Nolan’s absence represents a major blow to Laura Harrison’s side who have swept all before them in the group stages of the senior ladies’ football championship to confirm top spot and qualify for the semi-finals, which are scheduled for weekend of September 14th and 15th.
