Roscommon have been left sweating on the fitness of one of their key forwards for the upcoming Connacht senior football championship semi-final against Mayo or New York in three weeks’ time.

The Roscommon Herald understands that Cathal Heneghan picked up a knee injury in training during the week and is waiting on the results of a scan to determine the extent of the problem.

The Michael Glaveys forward only returned to the fold this season after missing all of 2023 with a serious knee injury.

The Rossies have endured their fair share of injury problems this season. St. Brigid’s attacker Ben O’Carroll missed the entire Division One League campaign, while midfielder Keith Doyle only saw game time against Tyrone in the opening round.
