Roscommon woman claims Connacht handball title

Over the weekend Kilglass Gaels Handball Club hosted the Connacht Juvenile and Adult One Wall championships.
Roscommon handballers won through to each of the underage finals on Saturday last. A Connacht title headed Roscommon’s way as Niamh Hall of Kilglass Gaels Handball Club won the U-16 title.
Niamh has enjoyed a summer to remember after she helped the Roscommon U-16 LGFA team to the All Ireland B title last month. At the end of May, the Kilglass Gaels handballer won her maiden individual All-Ireland handball title when she won the 60x30 All-Ireland U-15 Singles final.
On Saturday last, Matthew Jordan in the U-14 boys, Caoimhe Cashin in the U-14 girls, Abigail Hughes U-16 girls and Senan Johnson U-16 boys all finished as runners-up in their age groups.
On Sunday the adults competition took place in which Adam Coggeran (Kilglass Gaels Handball Club) lost out in his final.
Roscommon Handball wish to congratulate all handballers who represented the county over the weekend, Kilglass Gaels Handball Club for hosting a superb weekend.
They also wish the best of luck to Niamh Hall and Alanna Coggeran who go forward to represent Roscommon and Connacht in the All Ireland series in three weeks’ time.
