One of County Roscommon’s most well-known and talented sportswomen was joined by some of her closest team-mates and friends on her wedding day this afternoon.

Last year’s county intermediate ladies’ football captain, Laura Fleming, looked stunning as she married Jonathan Mannion in Kilbegnet Church earlier today where she was joined by her family, team-mates and friends.

Laura’s bridesmaids were former Roscommon team-mates Natalie McHugh and Jenny Higgins — the latter jetting in from Australia where she has spent the last number of months with Sydney Swans in the AFLW.

All three women soldiered in the “Primrose and Blue” from underage ranks all the way up to adult level where they have been an integral part of the county’s flagship ladies’ football team for over a decade. Just last year, they were part of the Roscommon team that claimed Division Three League honours.

It’s a busy weekend for Laura who will line out for Athleague in tomorrow’s All-Ireland junior club camogie final against Granemore from Armagh in Kinnegad.
