Lisa going for gold at European Boxing Championships in Sofia
Lisa O'Rourke has the chance to become European boxing champion in Sofia on Thursday evening.
Lisa O’Rourke will be in the ring on Thursday evening hoping to win gold for Ireland at the European Boxing Elite Championships in Sofia.
The Castlerea boxer will face 2023 world champion, Anastasiia Demurchian from Russia, in the final of the 80kg division.
Her fight is due to take place at 4.45 p.m. and will be broadcast live on the RTÉ Player and Eurosport.
The 2022 world champion and 2025 silver medalist at the world championships has been in sparkling form so far at these championships, but will face her toughest opponent yet in Demurchian.
Lisa’s sister Aoife will fight for gold on Friday evening in the final of the 75kg division against Turkey's Busra Isildar where she will be hoping to retain her European title.
