Ben O’Carroll shot the lights out for his club, St. Brigid's, during Friday evening’s penultimate round of the O’Rourke Cup.

The talented forward was superb for reigning county champions, St. Brigid’s — hitting an incredible personal tally of 2-21 during his side’s 4-25 to 1-10 victory against Western Gaels in the Division One League.

He hit six two-pointers (three from play and three from frees), alongside two goals and six singles from play, resulting in a contribution of 2-12 from play.

O’Carroll left the Roscommon panel for personal reasons in April, but it is understood that he has returned to Mark Dowd’s set-up in recent weeks.

Friday evening’s result, alongside Boyle’s 2-16 to 2-10 victory against Éire Óg, means that St. Brigid’s, who have won the O’Rourke Cup for the last two years, will travel to Abbey Park for this year’s final.
