John Joe Patrick Finn, whose father hailed from Ballyhaunis, made his senior international debut for Ireland against Luxembourg on Tuesday evening.

Finn was born and reared in Spain to an Irish father from Devlis, Ballyhaunis and mother from Cameroon.

In last night’s goalless friendly against Luxembourg at the Stade de Luxembourg, the 21-year-old was introduced from the bench in the 90th minute.

Finn plays his club football in France for Ligue 1 side, Stade de Reims.

He has been a regular visitor to his family in East Mayo, enjoying summer holidays in Ballyhaunis.
