On a busy weekend for athletics with the National Indoor Championships seeing Ireland’s top talents hit the track, Roscommon managed to strike gold on the national stage.

Hollie Kilroe managed to secure a gold medal as she was part of the UCD 4x400m relay team that finished first.

The former Mercy College student teamed up with Molly Hourihan, Renee Crotty and Ellie Hartnett to set a new national club record and championship record with a time of 3:47.66 on their way to gold.

Kilrow represented her country at the Youth Olympics two years in a row.

The National Indoor Championships saw Olympians Sharlene Mawdsley, Sarah Lavin and Sarah Healy claim gold medals.
