Darragh Murray has crowned a great week by being named in the Connacht starting 15 for Friday evening’s BKT United Rugby Championship meeting with Zebre Parma at Dexcom Stadium (kick-off at 7.45 p.m.).
After being named in Andy Farrell’s Ireland squad for next month’s Nations Championship Northern Hemisphere Series for the games against Argentina, Fiji and South Africa, the Brideswell native will link up with his older brother, Niall, in the second row for the western province’s big game in Galway.
There’s also a start for Colm Reilly at scrum-half, bringing the Rossies’ total to three in the team.
“Last Saturday was special for a few reasons, but now we’ve fully shifted our focus back to the URC, particularly with the six-day turnaround. There’s still a few areas for us to work on, and having coached against Zebre many times we know how challenging this game will be.
"It’s great to have eight players selected for Ireland duty, so we’re hoping they’ll make another positive impact before they head to camp next week,” said Connacht Head Coach Stuart Lancaster.
