Richael Timothy has won a gold medal at the UEC Para-Cycling Road European Championships in Maniago, Italy.

The Ballymoe native backed up her bronze medal in the time trial on Friday by winning the WC3 Road Race on Sunday morning.

Timothy vowed to “leave everything on the course” in a bid to become European champion, and the former Roscommon ladies’ footballer has been as good as her word by striking gold.
