Two Roscommon supporters were interviewed on Sky Sports following Leeds United’s promotion to the Premier League.
Shane Sharkey and Brian Carroll both travelled over to watch their beloved club book their return to the top table after an emphatic 6-0 win over Stoke City on Easter Monday.
Carroll, who is Chairperson of Roscommon GAA, is a lifelong Leeds United supporter as himself and Sharkey were able to celebrate Leeds’ return to the top table.
Sharkey told Sky Sports: “For a club like Leeds to be back up it’s great. We can compete with the other teams up there so hopefully we have a good transfer season and get the players in to compete next year.
Carroll also stated to the broadcaster: “Once the Sheffield United-Burnley game was over, it capped it off. It was a long 90 minutes watching Burnley and Sheffield United but once it was over it was great. The scenes outside here last night was unbelievable. It was a once in a lifetime moment so it was great.”
