Three men to appear in court in connection with fatal assault of Limerick man

Three men are due to appear in court in Limerick later on Wednesday, charged in connection with the alleged fatal assault of a father of three in Limerick City, last March.
Liam “Gingee” Higgins (55), died in hospital, eight days after he sustained serious head injuries in an alleged assault at Athlunkard Street, on March 17th last.
A number of people are already before the courts charged in connection with the alleged assault on Higgins, in which it was alleged his head was stamped on and beaten with traffic cones.
Higgins, of Mungret, Co Limerick, and late of Ryan’s Cottages and O’Malley Park, Limerick, was pre-deceased by his son Jamie and father Jim.
He is survived by his mother Anne, wife Sharon, sons Calvin and Scott, and daughter Leanne.
