Community Choir to feature in May concert

The St Brigid's Community Choir. The choir will take part in the Samaritans Maytime Concert.
The Samaritans Maytime Concert will be held at 8 p.m. in St Brigid’s GAA Club on Saturday, May 3rd. It will be a concert delivered by three contrasting choirs, St Brigid’s Community Choir, the Roscommon Men’s Choir and Ballybay National School Choir.
This variety of performers promises to provide a very varied and entertaining evening in support of the Athlone and Midlands Samaritans. Siobhan Gavin will be the compere on the night.
St Brigid’s Community Choir and its members are singers with a community ethos. They come from the environs of Kiltoom and the wider Athlone area. It was established in 2013 and currently has a membership of 45 men and women. The choir sing a variety of harmonious songs promoting the value of community and fostering a keen sense of belonging and shared ambition. In the past the choir have raised significant funding for notable charities in the surrounding areas and, on this occasion, are privileged to do likewise for the very worthwhile ‘Samaritans’.
The Athlone and Midlands Samaritans are a completely voluntary organization, dedicated to providing a listening, non-judgemental support to anyone who is lonely, anxious or despairing to anyone who is contemplating suicide.
