Roscommon County Council has given its backing to the Night and Day Music Festival, which once again takes place on the grounds of Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle from Friday, May 29th to Sunday, May 31sth.

With just a few weeks to go before the big weekend, tickets are selling fast for this year’s Night and Day Music Festival which once again takes place on the grounds of Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle from Friday, May 29th to Sunday May 31st.

The event is one of the first outdoor festivals to be held in the country, kick-starting a much-anticipated summer of music.

Now in its fifth year, the festival has become a permanent fixture on the outdoor festival scene, attracting top class acts and a wide-ranging demographic, reflecting the rich array of music genres performing over the three days.

This year’s headline acts include the Saw Doctors, the Boomtown Rats, Hothouse Flowers, Paddy Casey, Soda Blonde, Jenny Greene as well as acclaimed international acts such as 80’s rockstars Big Country and Richard Thompson.

The festival will also feature a diverse lineup of electronic acts, including  Jenny Greene, a prominent DJ and radio presenter, electronic artists, Nialler9, Sara Miller and Colin Perkins and electronic band, Vanishing Arcs.

Festival promoter Craig Hughes says that “as a music festival, the Night and Day Festival is now firmly established in its own right on the summer festival circuit. This is reflected in the increased demand for tickets this year, which has surpassed even our own expectations.

“The reputation of our festival as a family friend and fun event, together with an excellent line-up, featuring a wide range of musical genres, means more people are putting Boyle on their list as an essential destination in their summer diaries," he said.

Roscommon County Council is one of the main sponsors of this year’s festival. Chief executive Shane Tiernan says the local authority is delighted to continue its association with the event. “The Night and Day Festival has become one of the premier music festivals in the country and is now firmly established on the Irish music calendar. The festival has been a major tourism and economic boost to the county, bringing national and international visitors to our county. Together with Coillte, we are delighted to support the festival again this year."
